Vice Chair Position

Heartland Intergroup is seeking a dedicated member to step into a vital leadership role. Service is a cornerstone of our recovery, and this position offers a unique opportunity to give back to the community that supports us all. We invite those ready to broaden their circle of service to stand for the position of Vice Chair.

THE VITAL ROLE OF VICE CHAIR

As a trusted servant of the Intergroup, the Vice Chair helps ensure our message remains strong and our doors stay open.
The Vice Chair position has the following duties:

A. Chair Intergroup meetings in Chairperson’s absence.
B. Act as Chairperson of a Group Relations Committee. This committee might operate in the following manner:
     i. Visit AA Groups on a regular basis, explaining the functions of the Intergroup office.
C. Attend all Intergroup-sponsored events.
D. Perform any other duties that the Chairperson may request.
E. Must be familiar with the By-Laws and 36 principles.

REQUIREMENTS & TERM

Sobriety: Two years of continuous sobriety is required to stand for the Vice Chair position.
Commitment: The current term runs from now through December 31, 2026.

HOW TO STAND FOR THE POSITION

The election will be held during our regularly scheduled monthly group representative meeting. We encourage all interested members to join us and see how they can contribute to our collective strength.

LOCATION: In person at the Heartland Intergroup office or via Zoom.
